Navy Reserve JAG Corps Officers At this time, the United States Navy Reserve does not offer Direct appointments to the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. However, there are commissioning opportunties available for those with a desire to serve on active duty. Upon the completion of three years in the active duty JAG Corps, one can then affiliate with the Navy Reserve JAG Corps, as you would be a fully trained asset. One loophole, however is to apply for another program, such as the Reserve Intelligence program, and request a lateral transfer to the JAG Corps after two years, provided you are a graduate of an ABA accredited law school and have passed the BAR examination in any state. Please contact LT Rystom below for a referral if you are interested in serving in the active JAG Corps of the United States Navy. For more information on the Navy JAG Corps, please follow this link: http://www.jag.navy.mil Please view INTELLIGENCE page in you are interested in this option. |
